The story so far:
Massmord started out in the late summer of 2004 when Sonny (Deunga, Desolation) moved from Malmo to Helsingborg and together with Ida (Beyond Pink, Vaning 5) came up with some riffs and ideas that we liked. After a few weeks of talking about starting a band we decided to talk to Olof (Article Nine, Vaning 5) about our plans and he was up for it. We started to practice in Olof's basement a few times and got some songs together. During that time Olof had been talking to an old friend and ex-bandmember by the name Berra (Article Nine) about the project and we later on asked him to join on bass, wich he did.
So, now we practiced more often and it turned out very well. But something was missing so we decided to get one more vocalist in the band. We asked Tijana (Beyond Pink) to join.
The first practice with Tijana went great. By that time we had a real problem since Olof's basement was really small, we had to get our own real practiceroom. Said and done. We rehearsed some more and wrote some more songs and we realized that we would have to get a 2nd guitarist. We looked around for a while but we couldn't find anyone. Later on we met Andreas (Unabombers) on a party and we talked about our situation and he was willing to try.
That turned out great so now we were a band for real and the fun could begin. We made some more songs and played our first show in february 2005. Later that spring we entered the studio to record our first demo that later turned out to be released as a 12" on Blindead Productions, Fight Records, Halvfabrikat Records and Nakkeskudd Plater. We did some more shows in Sweden and one in Denmark with good results.
2006 started off with a few shows here and there and the thought of doing a tour to promote our debut release "Inget liv/Ingen död" started to grow. After a lot of work, stress and late nights we had our first tour booked for August 2006. The tour went great even though we had a lot of problems. Tijana had to go home after a few shows due to illness and we had to go on without her. We made some of the shows on this tour with a band called Shades of Grey. They became really good friends of ours during the tour.
After our first tour we did a few shows during the rest of the year with bands like Witch Hunt, Imperial Leather, Ohuzaru and Victims.
In the start of 2007 we mainly focused on writing new songs for an upcoming LP/CD, that later came to be "Unleashed", and we didn't do any shows until May. We also worked on a longer tour for June to promote the "Unleashed" album. This tour went way better than the first one even though we had a lot of problems before we went on the tour. Berra anounced that he couldn't come on tour because of his new job and shortly after that Ida had to turn down the tour due to the same reason as Berra. So we were down to 4 out of 6 members with just 2 months to the tour. We started to regroup and we tried me on bass and vocals a few times until we came to our sences that we couldn't pull it through like this. We then contacted our dear friends Martin and Diana from Shades of Grey to see if they were up fo filling the gaps in the band for this tour. They jumped on board and we were all set to go on tour. 2 days before the tour Tijana announced that she couldn't go on tour due to illness. This time it was really bad and there was no way she could have make it through an entire tour in that condition. She did the right thing to stay home. The tour went amazingly well and we had a great time together.
After the tour we took a little break and Sonny moved up to Stockholm and Tijana sadly announced that she had to leave the band. We mainly focused on writing new songs during the rest of 2007 and addapt to the new situation without Tijana. In the beginning of 2008 we entered the studio to record our songs for the split LP/CD with our friends Shades of Grey and a few shows/festivals for the spring/summer was booked. We will have to slow down for a while this year because Berra is about to be a dad in may/june and needs some time off.
A rather lazy summer went by and in the end of August, Ida decided to leave the band. So, the search for a new guitrist begun...
